
Joey Petschl enters his fifth year with Shorewood High School boys’ basketball program.
Prior to Shorewood High School, Petschl was Director of Basketball Operations at Oregon State University. He served as the program’s Director of Player Personnel his first three seasons with the Beavers.

Joey Petschl enters his fifth year with Shorewood High School boys’ basketball program.
Prior to Shorewood High School, Petschl was Director of Basketball Operations at Oregon State University. He served as the program’s Director of Player Personnel his first three seasons with the Beavers.
Petschl, who was hired at Oregon State on May 26, 2016, worked for Oregon State head coach Wayne Tinkle for six seasons at the University of Montana. He was a student manager for four years, a graduate assistant in 2012-13 and the Director of Basketball Operations in 2013-14. While at Montana, the Grizzlies won three Big Sky Conference championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament three times.
As an assistant coach at Saint Martin’s University, Petschl helped build Saint Martin’s from a 6-22 record in 2014-15 to a 15-13 mark and a sixth-place finish in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in 2015-16.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Montana in 2012 and a master’s degree in adult training from the University of Phoenix in 2016. He graduated from Bishop Blanchet High School in Seattle in 2008.
He and his wife, Devin, reside in Edmonds and have three sons, Jackson, Cameron and Myles.
Zane Hopen is Assistant and Head Junior Varsity Coach at Shorewood High School.
An alumnus of Shorewood High School, and former player, Hopen brings his experiences both on and off the court to the program.
Hopen is a graduate of Arizona State University.

Off the court, Schott is responsible for program communications, marketing, and logistics, calling on his decades of experience in marketing and sports-fueled partnerships with Microsoft and professional sports organizations. In his day job, Schott is the Senior Director of Strategic Communications for the College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences at Washington State University.
A 2001 graduate of Wenatchee High School and 2005 graduate of the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University, Schott lives with his wife Camille, son Lucas, and daughter Claire in Woodway, WA.
